It's designed to have an increased 'flicker' action as it falls to help entice the big fish to eat. The unique Rage Tail design incorporated into the tail disturbs a lot of water and actually thumps on the retrieve. The tail even incorporates a score line that can be cut to turn the Thumper Worm into a true cut tail worm.
